What Does Disney have Planned with Epic Games?
Disney recently shared its gaming strategy, highlighting a partnership with Epic Games to develop "transformational" content for Fortnite, aiming to blend Disney's iconic brands with the popular game.
The company emphasized its leadership in the licensed video game market, driven by a shift towards converged gaming ecosystems.
In February, Disney invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games to create a persistent universe where fans can engage with Disney content in new ways.
While specific Fortnite projects haven't been announced, many are speculating about a "virtual Disney World" on the platform, with more details possibly revealed at the upcoming D23 event.
Disney's claim as the largest player in licensed gaming refers to its numerous partnerships with outside studios, following the closure of its own game development division.
Current projects include titles like Indiana Jones from Microsoft, Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft, and Disney Pixel RPG from GungHo Online.

A “Monster” Drop
Monster Beverage Corp. saw a significant drop in its stock price after reporting quarterly results that concerned investors, with shares falling 10.9% on Thursday and down 21.9% for the year.
Despite these challenges, including inflation and competition from big-box retailers, Monster plans to raise prices by about 5% on core beverage brands in the U.S. starting November 1, citing the brand's strong market position and the popularity of energy drinks.
However, analysts, like TD Cowen's Robert Moskow, worry that the price hike could lead to the need for promotions or discounts to retain customers, and the firm has lowered its price target for Monster to $50 from $55.
Executives acknowledged the difficult economic conditions but expressed confidence in the price increase strategy, noting that energy drinks remain popular and are considered an affordable luxury.

Can Mars Still Become Earth 2.0?
Terraforming Mars, a classic science fiction concept, is being explored through new research suggesting that injecting tiny particles into the Martian atmosphere could warm the planet by over 10°C in just a few months, enough to sustain liquid water.
The proposed method involves manufacturing 2 million tons of particles annually from Martian dust, which would be more cost-effective than previous ideas like using chlorofluorocarbons or silica aerogel.
While the particles could create a greenhouse effect, warming Mars is just one step in making it habitable, as challenges like the lack of oxygen, low atmospheric pressure, and toxic soils remain.
Despite the hurdles, the researchers plan to test their proposed nanorods in the lab, although large-scale terraforming of Mars is still far off and could take 50 to 100 million years and cost an estimated $10 billion.
This research also highlights the importance of studying Earth's climate and ecosystems for potential application elsewhere.
Mars can still become like Earth but there are many factors at play. Time, money, and resources. Yes we have the resources and money but it may take from 50 years to 100 million years. As for the money, we only need $10 billion to move forward. A figure that is processed millions of times over every single day in every single country.
