✨OpenAI Faces a €15M ReckoningšŸ’°āš–ļø

Italy fined OpenAI €15 million ($15.6 million) for ChatGPT’s mishandling of personal data and weak age checks for kids under 13. The watchdog, Garante, says OpenAI used data without proper legal backing and wasn’t transparent with users.

OpenAI calls the fine ā€œdisproportionate,ā€ noting it’s 20 times what they made in Italy, and plans to appeal. They’ve also been ordered to run a public awareness campaign in Italy about ChatGPT and data collection.

This is part of a global push for tighter AI regulations, with the EU’s AI Act setting the pace. AI companies, take note—privacy rules are no joke.

Google’s Bold Move to Redefine Search šŸš€

Google is gearing up to launch "AI Mode" in its search engine, offering an interface like its Gemini chatbot. This new tab will sit next to "All," "Images," and more, letting users chat with search results instead of scrolling.

AI Mode will show links to related pages and even let you ask follow-up questions, possibly with voice commands. With OpenAI boosting ChatGPT's search features, Google is stepping up to merge AI and search, keeping the competition fierce.
